How did you all North-easterners survive the thundersnow last night? I wish I had a cool adventurous story to tell, but instead I took the day off from work (being the lazy bum that I am). Forecast predicted the bulk of the storm to hit during the afternoon rush hour commute and I did not want to be a part of that. In hindsight, I'll pat myself on the back for the smart move. But if we had gotten nothing (like all the other times this season), I would be steaming over having to use my vacation hours, lol.

As predicted, the snow came down hard and fast right in the middle of rush hour. It's already bad enough that DC is tied for first with the nation's worst commute, but add to the fact that we simply do not know how to drive in the snow is a disaster waiting to happen. I sat in front of my computer throughout the night watching various live traffic cams as the drama unfolded. Tons of cars stranded on roadsides, traffic not moving, cars driving in made up lanes, normal people directing traffic, etc. I hop onto Facebook and see friends posting that they've been sitting in traffic for 6 hours, or taking 3 hours to drive 1 mile, or people not making it home until after midnight! It was ridiculous but I couldn't look away. This really is one storm to remember.

On a good note, your outfit looks great! Amazing how a belt can transform an outfit. And you know I'm loving those flats, FABULOUS!!!

  3. No crazy storm here, thank god. And *gush* there's that pretty bal bag of yours and I adore your pretty Miu Miu bow flats. I like that you pictured your outfit belted and not belted. I think I like the belted version better.

  4. I hate the snow, and when it snows here the whole city shuts down as well.

Is it just me or is that a magically moving belt? :) I like the first version best! the belt inside the sweater.

    Super cute flats, btw! :)

  7. I had no idea you lived in the DC area - I lived in Baltimore for a year after college :) My favorite is the belt over the sweater - I think because I like seeing something slouchy and comfy unexpectedly cinched in. You look great as always!

  8. We got a foot of snow over night. Ugh. My son had a fever of 102 deg, and we had to go out at 6 am to pick up some children's tylenol. Talk about fun!

Great inspiration outfit Cee! You totally nailed it. :)

  14. Mmm, I don't feel that your outfit was inspired by the model. More like the model was inspired by you, Cee. This outfit is so Cee! Love it!

  15. I hear you! I live in northern VA and saw the car drama. 12 hours in traffic is not funny. I love your blog. Where do you shop in this area. I am very close to Potomac Mills, but have found that the quality of some things is... not very good.

  16. @Lilly, @Lisa, @cryskay - I feel like I'm wearing these flats and bag to death. In a good way :)

@PetiteLittleGirl - Doesn't it seem like I'm always complaining about the weather? When it hits your area, you barely say a word!

@kimmie - Haha yup, fickle ole me changed it up throughout the day.

@kileen - That does seem like the consensus. Although I should have belted it higher like the model.

@DSK Steph! - Yay, another Bal lover :) Nice to meet you Steph!

@SewPetiteGal - Yup, DC metro, the land of the ridiculous home prices :P But I won't start ranting again.

@JenlovesBal - Oh my gosh, that does not sound fun at all. I caught something recently too and am still battling :(

@Callandra - You and me both!

@Elle, @Stylepint - I know, I wouldn't know what to do with myself either. Probably would head back to work and spend the night there, haha.

@Really Petite - I'm always so jealous to see your outfits in warm sunny Ca!

    @Vicky - Hehe, you're way too kind!

@Lynmara - Howdy neighbor! I mainly shop at the typical malls, Tysons and Fair Oaks. I go to Leesburg every once in awhile (P Mills is farther from me). I do try to wait until the chain stores have their seasonal sales though and stock up. I'll admit that I'm not the best at judging quality. I buy what I love :) And of course the price has to be right! I like stores such as Old Navy, Gap, LOFT, J.Crew.
